Synopsis:
Directed by Jodie Markel, The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond is a posthumously discovered Tennessee Williams screenplay that has been produced for the first time. It takes place in 1920's Memphis and is centered on a young woman named Fisher Willow, and her struggle to be accepted by the high society that she at the same time shuns. It is also a story of her love for the down and out grandson of a former governor and the lengths she goes to in trying to win his heart. Starring Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Evans, with great performances from Ellyn Burstyn, Ann-Margret, and Will Patton.
The original score ranges from spare chamber music to lush orchestral textures. Performers include Megan Orton, Tin Hat, and members of The Oregon Symphony. The soundtrack is rounded out by great source cues from music supervisor Joe Mulherin along with a composition by Tin Hat member Ara Anderson.
Theatrical Release: December 30th 2009 NY and LA, national release to follow in January 2010.
